Tapestry Introduction
Description:
Tapestry is especially suited for weaving images, giving you the freedom you express your ideas and to create scenes and pictorial stories. Basic techniques will be included in the sampler we will weave.
I will demonstrate weft handling and the basic diagonal, which is necessary for making other diagonals and curved shapes. We will begin with weaving basic tapestry techniques, using a tapestry needle. Next, we will weave vertical slits, curves, triangles and some eccentric weft curves.
No weaving experience necessary, but some experience working with yarn is helpful.
A warped loom and yarns will be provided for use in this class.
